Many people do not realize that a plastic surgeon does so much more than correct physical imperfections through cosmetic surgery. Many plastic surgeons spend a great deal of time responding to emergency calls in hospitals performing procedures that require the skill and reconstructive expertise of a plastic surgeon.
The Ladue News has recently featured an article about what goes on in the ER. In the article, Dr. Cabbabe explains that he is often called into the ER to perform a number of cosmetic surgeries involving deep lacerations, facial injuries and injuries of the hands. Dr. Cabbabe goes on to explain that all ER patients with these types of injuries have the option to be seen by a specialist.
