If you are found to have carpal tunnel syndrome, Dr. Cabbabe will recommend further treatment. If you are found to have a mild form of this disorder, he may recommend wrist splints that prevent you from flexing your wrist and worsening your symptoms. Your insurance company may require this treatment prior to approving surgery. If you have a severe form, Dr. Cabbabe will recommend release of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel in a procedure called carpal tunnel release.

In this procedure, Dr. Cabbabe makes a small incision over the wrist – hand junction. The ligament which causes the nerve to be compressed is released, freeing up the nerve.
